Petru Popa Trio feat. Nils Olav Johansen Plus Alan Benzie solo

Petru Popa's Quartet is unable to travel from Norway to play at Aberdeen Jazz Festival. We have chanaged to line-up to

Alan Benzie solo / Dave Milligan solo

Opening the show, Benzie’s solo piano is luminously toned, atmospheric and often impressionistic. His music is rooted in European and American jazz, but is influenced by impressionist piano music and film music, and his love of Japanese animation.

David Milligan is the Scottish pianist whose crossover interest between traditional music and jazz has helped to forge a new norm where musicians from both genres feel comfortable in each other’s territory. His pianism brings extraordinary new light to this fertile ground, especially in this intimate solo setting.
