Jazz on the Green is back after a show-stopping year in 2017.

On Sunday 11th March, Aberdeen’s City Centre will once again be ignited in a celebration of jazz, blues, funk, soul, R&B, swing, bop, vocals and big band, with free admission for all. 

Music on nine stages for four hours, and the chance to hear at twenty different bands!

THE ARTISTS:

    • Aberdeen Grammar School – youth big band playing the classic songbook
    • Aberdeen University Big Band – playing the classic big band tunes
    • Aberdeen University Jazz Orchestra – music from the big band era
    • AjZ – jazz fusion band with hard funk groove
    • Colin Black Trio – classic jazz guitar tunes from trio with strong group dynamic
    • Dan from Oceans 3 - Aberdeen’s top Rat Pack soloist singing Tim Pan Alley tunes
    • Brass Gumbo, exciting funk and jazz with a New Orleans flavour
    • DopeSickFly  – funk masters delivering a rock, poetic, acid jazz fusion
    • Cindy Douglas – vocal jazz for kids: Disney and cartoon tunes
    • Guarana Street Band – Aberdeen community street drumming band
    • Hamlet – young Aberdeen band playing standards to contemporary jazz
    • Al Hughes – slide guitarist with haunting, smoky voice 
    • Gerry Jablonski Band – guitar hero delivering high-octane blues-rock
    • Helena Kay with Colin Black Trio – peppery hard bop from award winning Scottish saxophonist 
    • Leppard and the Big Cats – soul, funk and Motown party band
    • Rosie Nimmo & Stuart Allardyce – laid back blues and swinging standards
    • Lorna Reid Duo - classy retro songs
    • Tenement Jazz Band – toe-tapping traditional jazz from prohibition speakeasies
    • Underskore Orkestra - blending Klezmer, Hot Jazz, Americana and Swing
    • Adam Usmani – stride and boogie-woogie piano
    • Viper Swing - vintage gypsy jazz band, evoking the 1920s to 40s
