Festival! Jaimeo Brown's Transcendence: Work Songs

Exuberantly inventive jazz - this year's Innovation winner at the Jazz FM Awards.

“One of the most exciting, experimental, and important albums set to drop this year” (Vice).

Cinematic in scope, the music weaves samples of legacy folk-recordings and hip-hop beats celebrating the human sprit and struggle with warmth, integrity and hope. Jazz drummer Brown is joined by Jaleel Shaw’s tenor sax and Chris Sholar's guitar and their collaborator credentials include Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, Q-Tip, Geri Alle, Bobby Hutcherson; Kanye West, Jay-Z, Robert Glasper, and D’Angelo.

“A unique contemporary jazz venture fuelled by palpably passionate commitment to match its creators’ imagination and skill” **** (The Guardian).
