Bria Skonberg with Konrad Wiszniewski Quartet
“Bria plays trumpet like a red hot devil, and sings like a dream” (WallStreet Journal). The Brooklyn based Skonberg is wowing New York’s jazz establishment. Playing classic, hot New Orleans jazz and music of the swing era, infused with a contemporary feel, the vocalist and trumpeter is grounded in classic jazz and plays and sings in the tradition of greats like Louis Armstrong, Dinah Washington and Billie Holiday, but she can sneak in all sorts of contemporary references. First time in Scotland, and with the classic swinging sound of tenor sax hero, Wiszniewski. “Poised to be one of the most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation” (Wall Street Journal).
